Wellcare | 2022 Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) Consolidation

Wellcare | 2022 Prescription Drug Plan (PDP) Consolidation
Comments

Attention Valued Partner

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) establishes limits on the number of Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) a plan sponsor is allowed to offer. With the Aetna PDP acquisition transition period ending, Wellcare is reducing the number of PDPs offered to align with CMS allowable plan limits.

Beginning with the January 2022 plan year, Wellcare will streamline our PDP offerings from six plans to three plans in all 34 regions across all 50 states and D.C. A total of 102 PDPs will be offered nationwide.

Key Points to Note

  • Orderable envelopes to mail enrollment books will be available to order separately through the order site.
  • Bar code has been removed from the 2022 AEP application.
  • Important: DSNP application must be used for DSNP plans or the application will pend with potential denial.
  • DSNP specific enrollment book with new application included.
  • Option to order generic or veteran version for all MA-only plans. Please ensure you select the appropriate description for the type of enrollment book you want for these plans.
  • Use Medicare Document Library on Vantage for digital versions of all materials including enrollment books and 17+ languages.

Order Site Enhancements

  • First look added to the home page.
  • Product filtering available when ordering Enrollment books.
  • Chinese and Korean materials available for specific plans.

Need to Know Information

  • Business Reply Envelopes used for applications will be included in the enrollment book. You will receive a set of labels that will need to be placed on the business reply envelopes prior to 10/15. These labels were created to notify members that they should not mail applications prior to 10/15 and are required to be placed on any enrollment books handed out prior to 10/15.
  • The 2021 plan rating will be included in all enrollment books as a perforated document.  When the 2022 plan rating is available, you will need to remove the 2021 plan rating and replace it with the 2022 version, which will be sent out electronically.  All enrollment book orders received after the 2022 plan rating is available, will receive the 2022 plan rating as a separate piece.
  • The OTC form and Catalog will be provided in color with pictures and a description of the products available.

2022 Aetna certification starts June 29

For 2022, we’re launching our annual Individual Medicare producer certification process on June 29, which is earlier than ever before! Brokers are encouraged to wait until Aetna certification goes live to certify.

Our certification process includes AHIP training, plus several other Aetna-specific components. You can certify by visiting
AetnaMedicareProducerCertification.com.

This portal is a one-stop-shop for brokers seeking Aetna MA/MAPD/DSNP and SilverScript PDP training.

Attention, 2021 Front Runners: Starting June 29, you can complete AHIP training free of charge if you access it through Aetna’s certification portal. But you won’t receive free AHIP enrollment or reimbursement if you complete AHIP prior to Aetna’s Go Live of June 29, 2021, or if you access AHIP training from a website other than Aetna’s certification portal.

What to know about 2022 certification

NOTE: For 2022, all returning users will be required to reset their passwords upon their first time logging into the certification portal, to ensure their accounts meet updated password security standards. Users may do this by clicking the “Forgot Your Password?” link on the log-in page.

  • Brokers marketing 2022 Aetna MA/MAPD/DSNP products will also certify to sell SilverScript PDP products on the Aetna Certification Portal.
  • All brokers certifying to sell 2022 Aetna MA/MAPD/DSNP will also be required to certify for SilverScript PDP.
  • Brokers marketing PDP only may continue to use the CVS Portal to certify for SilverScript PDP. If they later decide to certify to sell MA/MAPD/DSNP, they’ll be required to complete the full Aetna certification, including AHIP and PDP training.
