SEP Annoucement

The state of emergency that was declared for New Jersey on 9/29/23 due to severe weather was lifted on 10/1/23. The new SEP end date is now 12/31/23.

Important note: On the Clover online enrollment application, there is an option to select for this disaster SEP. On a paper application, please include code ‘DST’ to indicate this eligibility type.

Just as a reminder, the SEP exists for individuals affected by a disaster or other emergency declared by a Federal, state or local government entity who were unable to, and did not make an election during another valid election period. Remember, you can check active SEPs in the Helpful Resources section of Clover’s For Brokers webpage.

New for 2024 – Wellcare Spendables Card-

In our ongoing mission to provide high-value benefits that are most helpful for our members’ overall health, we would like to provide you with additional resources for comprehensive learning on one of our most exciting plan additions for 2024:

Wellcare SpendablesTM Card

Select 2024 plans will now include the Wellcare Spendables card. This program replaces the previous Flex Card benefit program and will be offered across all states.

Benefit Highlights

  • Members will receive a pre-loaded allowance on a Visa debit card that they may use towards their over-the-counter (OTC) benefit on health products at over 55,000 participating retailers such as Walmart, CVS, Kroger, Publix, and more.
  • D-SNP members may use their monthly allowance for healthy foods, pay-at-pump gas, or assistance with utilities and rent.
  • Select D-SNP and other plans will also include cost-share assistance on out-of-pocket expenses for dental, vision, or hearing benefits.
  • Depending on the member’s plan, benefits will be managed as a combined allowance from one single purse (all D-SNP plans and select additional plans) or managed as a separate allowance from two purses that members may choose to use toward their plan’s eligible benefits.
