Want to earn an additional $70 per enrollment? You can with the value-based enrollment (VBE) option available through Aetna’s Ascend Virtual Sales Office app. 

VBE helps to engage your Aetna Medicare clients with their new MA/MAPD plan. So they’ll be more likely to complete their enrollment. 

How VBE can help you earn more

Once you become ready to sell, you’re granted access to the Ascend app. You can log in to https://arm.ascendproject.com to download Ascend. For help with any payment-related or technical issues with Ascend, click here. Then, you can initiate the VBE option. You’ll need to complete a health-related survey immediately with your clients:

  • You can complete the survey directly by selecting the new “Agent Complete” option.* This will earn you a $70 service fee payment.

  • Or you can select the “Schedule a Callback” option to earn a $10 service fee payment.

Service fees will be paid about two weeks after the VBE transaction. You’ll receive them as part of your regular commission payment. IMPORTANT: The service fee will be paid to the same entity that is listed on your Aetna contract.  Watch a short video to learn more.

Follow these steps to ensure your Medicare clients are assigned the correct primary care provider (PCP)

There are a few critical items that must be included on the enrollment application for both paper and electronic enrollments. Follow the steps below. Make sure you know where to find each item.

  1. Fill in the Provider ID
  2. Fill in the Primary Care ID (e.g., Primary Care Provider ID) 
  3. Check the Existing Patient checkbox if applicable

Important change to Ascend enrollment form: Ensure you populate the PCP codes in the right spot

When enrolling clients in the Ascend Virtual Sales Office app, please note that the provider ID and primary care provider ID (PCP ID) fields are now listed in a different order. When you copy these codes from our online provider look-up tool, make sure you paste them into the correct fields in Ascend. This is critical to ensure your client is assigned the correct PCP.

New, improved Aetna certification site launches April 19

On April 19, the Aetna Medicare certification site is getting a new look with improved performance and navigation. Plus, the new site will be 100% compatible with your mobile devices. Please note: All producers will need to reset their password and validate their account info the first time they log in to the site after April 19.

Educational events help inform beneficiaries about Medicare Advantage plans and other Medicare programs. If you plan to host an educational event, it’s important to report the event to us using one of our seminar reporting templates. Learn more.

Medicare 101 presentation for educational events

You can use our Medicare 101 presentation at educational events to help explain the different Medicare options to your clients. The presentation reviews both Social Security and Medicare —and how they work together— to give beneficiaries a full picture of how their retirement benefits work. Only want to review Medicare? When to use a permission-to-contact form

A permission-to-contact form must be completed prior to contacting a prospect. This form is separate from the Scope of Appointment form and is required by CMS. You can download a PDF version. Or, you can order a book of forms, with 50 rip-out pages each, from the Aetna Medicare Marketing Studio.

Scope of Appointment (SOA) requirements

An SOA is a documented agreement between an agent and a Medicare beneficiary that is required by CMS. It lists the MA, MAPD or PDP products agreed upon for discussion prior to a marketing appointment.
