Reminder of the CMS Guidelines Regarding Applications
December 7 marks the last day of AEP! As we approach the deadline, we wanted to remind you of the CMS guidelines regarding last minute applications.
- Paper enrollments must be in an agent’s possession by Dec. 7, and agents have 48 hours to turn applications in to Cigna.
- Enrollment over the phone at an approved call center must be recorded and received by 11:59 p.m.* on Dec. 7.
- Customer-mailed applications must be received by Cigna by Dec. 7.
Customer faxed applications must be received by Cigna by 11:59 p.m.* on Dec. 7.
Customers whose applications do not meet these guidelines will not be enrolled in a Cigna Medicare Advantage plan for January 1, 2023, unless they have an available SEP.
