Gerber Life Update

Important changes to Gerber Life Whole Life and Simplified Senior Life and Gerber Life Duet™ will go into effect 12/18/2019

Product Changes Include:

New Policy Form Numbers

Effective December 18, 2019, the policy form numbers for Gerber Life Whole Life and Simplified Senior Life and Gerber Life Duet will change. For a list of policy form numbers and product state availability, click here.

Updated Applications and Marketing Material

All applications and marketing material have been updated to reflect the new policy form numbers listed above. The updated paper applications, application kits and marketing material will be available for download on the Agent Portal and FormsPipe on 12/18/2019. The electronic applications will also be updated for applications submitted on 12/18/2019.

Please Note: Any applications received or issued after December 17, 2019 will be issued the new policy. A cover letter stating there is an updated policy form number will be included in the policy kit for any prior version applications.

Transition to the 2017 CSO Mortality Tables

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) has adopted the 2017 Commissioners Standard Ordinary (2017 CSO) mortality tables. All life insurance policies are required to use the updated 2017 CSO Mortality Tables by January 1, 2020.

As a result, all Gerber Life Whole Life, Simplified Senior Life and Duet™ policies issued are based on the 2017 CSO Mortality Tables in all states. These three products are currently not available in New York.
