We have updated our rate lock procedures.  Please see attached for details

In an effort to simplify the differences between our Lincoln MYGuaranteeSMPlus rate lock procedures, and that of our fixed-indexed annuities, I wanted to make sure you have this for reference. Thank you!

  • Lincoln MYGuaranteeSM Plus (MYGA) is received date, FIA is still signed date
  • 7 (calendar days) for “cash” (and business treated like cash, see attached for details) on both, but different start dates
      • MYGA: To lock in rates before a rate change, the submitted e-application must be received in Annuity New Business by 4pm ET on the business day  (“received date”) prior to the effective date of the rate change. Note that business day means a Lincoln Financial Group regularly scheduled work day.  The contract must be issued on or prior to the 7th calendar day from the received date to receive the rate hold interest rate.
      • FIA: To “lock in” rates before a rate change, the signed application must be received in Annuity New Business within 7 calendar days from the application signed date. These rates will be held for 7 calendar days from the application signed date. Applications received beyond 7 calendar days from the application signed date will receive the rates in effect at that time.
    • 45 days/60 days for transfers
      • MYGA: 1035 Exchange/Qualified Trustee-to-Trustee transfer: A 45-day rate hold will apply to Lincoln-initiated 1035 exchanges and qualified trustee-to-trustee transfers beginning on the date the application is received, and the contract must be issued within 45 calendar days from the received date.
      • FIA: A 60-day rate hold will apply to 1035 exchanges or qualified trustee-to-trustee transfers. Rates will be locked for 60 calendar days from the date the application is signed. The exchange or transfer must be initiated by Lincoln. A rate hold will not apply to a 60-day rollover

Cigna Healthcare will start paying commissions on Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) starting in AEP 2024!

We have great news for our broker partners. While you may have heard the news already, we are excited to confirm that starting with the 2024 Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), Cigna Healthcare will start paying commissions on our full line of Medicare Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs)!

We are excited to make this change and hope this initiative allows you to better meet your customer’s needs as we work to help drive value and affordability and expand access to Cigna Healthcare’s full portfolio of products.

Since you are an existing Cigna Healthcare MAPD agent, re-contracting is not required to sell our Part-D plans for 2024 as your existing MAPD contract already includes our Medicare Advantage and Part-D plans.

Cigna Healthcare will offer a combined MAPD + PDP certification for 2024. So, as an existing MAPD agent, all you need to do to be considered ‘Ready-to-Sell’ for Cigna’s Part-D plans is to complete the 2024 certification when it opens in July. It’s that easy!

We are happy to share this great news with you and will continue to share more as we approach AEP 2024 including details on plans, rates, and commissions. Recently, EmblemHealth announced their decision to discontinue their non-SNP plans. In response to these market changes, Empire BlueCross BlueShield has made the difficult decision to focus on protecting plan sustainability and make only select plans commissionable in 2023. Over 70% of our 2022 new sales have been in the seven plans listed below that WILL remain commissionable in 2023.

We believe these seven plans offer potential members Empire’s most competitive suite of benefits and will continue to be strategically sustainable going forward. These plans also offer the potential for additional commissions when you submit completed health risk assessments within seven calendar days of enrollment.

Please note that renewal commissions will not be impacted by these changes. If you have previously sold a plan going non-commissionable in 2023, you will continue to receive renewal commissions for as long as that member stays enrolled with Empire.
